International Secretariat (IS) |
DCI’s International Secretariat is based in Geneva, Switzerland and acts as the focal point for the movement at the international level, providing an invaluable link between DCI’s national sections and the United Nations. The International Secretariat seeks updated information from DCI national sections in the field and uses this experience to focus and inform its international child rights advocacy. A key component of its mandate is to provide technical assistance and capacity building support to its 47 national sections. DCI’s International Secretariat also undertakes advocacy, monitoring, research, networking and information dissemination as a means of bringing pressing child rights concerns to the international agenda – particularly with regard to children’s rights in juvenile justice. DCI’s commitment to working on child justice was reaffirmed at its most recent International General Assembly in Geneva, Switzerland in March 2012. Here, DCI re-identified juvenile justice as its priority area of focus for advocacy and intervention at the international level. Contact Us Key Staff at the International Secretariat:
